Apprentice Painter and Decorator

Job overview

As an apprentice you will learn all the practical elements to give you the skills to become a painter and decorator.  You will undertake a part time academic course at a college or similar to give you the theory foundation to support your practical knowledge and skill set.

Over the course of the apprenticeship you will become competent to work unsupervised as an painter and decorator craftsperson.

Main duties of the job

You must be willing to learn from others by instruction and by practical training.

You must be prepared to attend a college (or similar training centre) on a part time or day release basis to attain your academic qualification relevant to the craft or trade, in this case painter and decorator.

Have an aspiration to become a fully qualified craftsperson.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As an aspiring painter and decorator you will be learning from others your craft and skills.

You will be assisting our Estates Team with tasks, learning new skills, conducting similar work as appropriate to enable your knowledge to grow. 

As a valued member of our department you will ultimately be exposed to, and conducting, very similar work and tasks that our qualified craftspersons are.

  • Minimum Grade C / 4 GCSE or equivalent in 5 other subjects including Maths and English
