We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced human resources generalist to join our team of HR professionals, working within an NHS Foundation Trust in the mental health sector.

We are recruiting a Band 7 Assistant Business Partner to provide support to our People and Culture team in the delivery of ‘Our People’ goals and with the provision of quality HR services to our divisional managers and employees; enabling them to deliver excellence to service users and carers.

You will have significant experience of working within the delivery of operational HR and employee relations services.

Within the role, you will be involved with a wide programme of work across a range of HR disciplines, with a particular focus on supporting ER casework, leading on complex cases and helping the team to achieve our KPI targets.

Main duties of the job

To support the People Management team in the delivery of an effective business focussed HR service. To support the People Management team in the wider delivery of workforce and learning priorities across the Trust, including leading on the delivery of specific programmes of work related to the People Strategy and workforce transformation and sustainability programmes.

 To have operational oversight for employee relations, lead on some complex cases as well as service level change management and TUPE and support casework/KPI performance and oversight.

 To provide professional and customer focused Human Resources advice, coaching and solutions that support the business in the management of workforce issues, change programmes and complex employee relations case work.

 To support the People Partners in specialist lead areas, with a particular focus on the delivery of a high-quality operational HR service.

To lead the design of policies, training, and tool kits.

 To assist the People Partners in the development of workforce plans that support local, organisational, and national strategy and agenda.

 Support as necessary the development, integration and implementation of Human Resources strategy, policy, and practice

To support the Senior People Partner with specialist portfolio/ projects.

This role gives the opportunity for hybrid working and you will typically be asked to work in a hybrid way, working from your home and also from Trust HQ The Uffculme Centre, or any other agreed site.

 

Person specification

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential criteria
  • • Degree in HRM or equivalent level of experience
  • • Masters level or equivalent acquired through degree and professional HR qualification plus additional training or equivalent experience
  • • CIPD qualified and Member of CIPD (or equivalent level of experience)
  • • Evidence of continuing professional development as a HR Practitioner
Desirable criteria
  • Management Qualification

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable generalist HR management experience in a unionised organisation
  • Experience of implementing employment policies e.g. discipline, grievance, equal opportunities, absence management
  • Demonstrable experience of advising managers on complex change issues including redundancy and TUPE transfers
  • Experience of project planning, including the development and implementation of project plans in order to meet business needs.
  • Knowledge, understanding and application of Human Resources best practice and employment legislation
Desirable criteria
  • Human Resource experience in the NHS

  • Ability to effectively facilitate training to a range of audiences using interactive and varied approaches to aid learning
