1 Positions available, 21 Hours Permanent contract 

An opportunity has arisen for an administration assistant to work within the District Nursing Teams in Dudley Group.

The admin teams provide an important and integral part of the day to day running of the nursing services, through email and telephone referral systems, and administrative support to the clinical teams who are based throughout the community, liaising with patients, carers, healthcare professionals and other representatives from health and social care organisations, across Dudley and possibly neighbouring localities.

You will be a part of small team of administrators; you will be an adaptable and confident team member, who possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be resilient and enjoy working closely with a team in a demanding environment.

Working Days are Monday to Friday. Subject to the needs of the service your working hours may include working Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

 

Main duties of the job

To provide comprehensive administrative support service to the Nursing Teams, and to undertake general clerical duties including opening and distribution of mail, maintenance of filing system and photocopying, word processing, reports, meeting support, completion of forms, and all correspondence, whilst maintaining confidentiality.

There may also be a requirement to undertake other similar duties as part of this post in order to provide a quality service.  These will be consistent with the level of responsibilities outlined above.

Qualifications & Education

Essential criteria
  • Maths and English GCSE's grade 9-1, O levels grade A-F, or CSE's 1-3
  • IT qualification – ECDL, RSAII
  • NVQ Business Administration/Customer Care NVQ2 or equivalent experience

Knowledge and Training

Essential criteria
  • Proven clerical/administrative experience within a customer care environment
  • Understanding of confidentiality and Data Protection Act
  • Computer literate with the ability to work in different computer applications

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of role and its application to patient care
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience working in the NHS/Healthcare environment
