Job overview

Cannock Chase Hospital are  seeking enthusiastic individuals to join us in providing an effective and efficient service.

Previous hospital experience is not essential but experience of carrying out similar duties and an understanding of cross infection issues is desirable.

 The position you are applying for  are one of:

3 x 15 hour posts working   5-8pm  Monday -Friday 

Main duties of the job

To undertake Cleaning duties across Trust sites as required, ensuring levels of cleanliness meet the National specification for Cleanliness for the NHS.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To work as a member of the Housekeeping team to assist with the daily tasks required to maintain the levels of cleanliness required for the environment.

To provide routine information with colleagues, ward /clinic/theatre staff and Supervisor.

To make judgements involving straightforward facts or situations, e.g. investigate problems with delivery shortages, reporting equipment failure and stock issues.

To organise your own day to day work tasks or activities to ensure cleanliness levels are achieved and documentation is completed for Trust patients, staff and visitors.

To comply with all Trust Policies, Infection Prevention protocols and Health and Safety  requirements.

To ensure safe use, and cleanliness, of all work equipment required - e.g. Vacuums, Rangers, and Scrubber/dryers etc. – following Housekeeping standard operating procedures.

To explain and demonstrate own duties to new starters.

To monitor and report on stock levels and ensuring that these are correctly stored in line with COSHH.

To record personally generated information for compliance to ensure Infection prevention protocols are followed.

To participate in cleanliness audits as required, and Trust surveys.

To work within clearly defined procedures using own initiative on routine matters, with supervision available.

To wear full uniform as issued and maintain personal appearance and hygiene at a standard commensurate with the duties and role of the post.
