Job overview

An exciting opportunity has become available for a maternity support worker to join our team to provide a high standard of women centred care to women attending Maternity Department. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

  • participate in Parentcraft education,
  • record maternal observations and input data into the IT system.
  • have a keen interest in the Public Health agenda for pregnant women
  • assist in the day to day running of the inpatient maternity areas

Essential criteria
  • Achieved GCSE grade C and above in Maths and English
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health Care or equivalent

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Previous caring for people
  • Experience of customer care or dealing with the public
  • Computer literate
Desirable criteria
  • Completed Trust’s Auxiliary Nurse / CSW training programme
  • Phlebotomy

Interests and motivation

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates knowledge of duties required as a Maternity Support Worker
Desirable criteria
  • Commitment to undertake NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare
