Patient Pathway Co-ordinator

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and an approved plan to build a brand new, state of the art Emergency Department which commenced in 2021

The Patient Pathway Co-ordinator will work within a Care Group within the Women’s & Children’s and Clinical Support Services Division to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that co-ordinated and streamlined processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.

The post holder will work as part of the clinical teams ensuring that patients are proactively managed and monitored in order to support the delivery of the Trust’s access targets/Referral to Treatment (RTT) in line with nationally and locally defined targets.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 286,700, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and the continued upgrading of existing areas ensures the Trust now has a state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit facilities. Work is also well underway on its multi-million pound new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre which will house a new Emergency Department (including Children’s Emergency Department), co-located Paediatric Assessment Unit, Acute Medical Unit and Urgent Care Centre. This is scheduled for completion this year.

- NVQ Business Administration Level 4 (or working towards) or demonstrable experience
Experience

- Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (ie Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Demonstrable experience of working in an access environment, managing waiting lists and delivering access standards
- Expert knowledge of RTT rules and application for consultant led services
