Job overview
The post holder will be responsible for the service development, management, and co-ordination of Dual diagnosis services to contribute to the further development of an integrated dual diagnosis service pathway across Wolverhampton. This will involve the provision of a clinical service through consultation and supervision to service users who have a co-morbid severe mental illness and use drugs and/or alcohol problematically. This will involve service delivery and liaison with both mental health and addiction services throughout Wolverhampton and with the current 3rd sector addictions provider.
Main duties of the job
· To be responsible for the assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of the evidence-based care required, including health promotion for a named service user/group.
· Responsible for the case conference/reviews and discharge planning in collaboration with members of the multi-disciplinary team.
· Responsible for participating in the development of the services, setting of quality standards, including the auditing, monitoring and reviewing in line with current clinical guidance practice and policy.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will coordinate and participate in the provision of staff and student training within Wolverhampton mental health lead provider in respect to intervention and approaches to dual diagnosis; to provide input to the professional training of multidisciplinary teams in the dual diagnosis area.

Essential criteria
- Qualified health or social care professional with current professional registration
- Significant post registration experience in mental health care
- Knowledge of the service needs of service users with Dual Diagnosis
- Experience of working with people who experience severe and enduring mental health problems.
Desirable criteria
- Recognised qualification in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy / Motivational Interviewing
- Leadership/management qualifications
- Teaching qualification
