What to expect
As a Healthcare Support Worker, your responsibilities will include assessments, ongoing rehabilitation, daily living assistance including personal care, for people at home or in a familiar setting.
You’ll be at ease working in the community, have great communication skills and the initiative to ensure people receive the best support.
What do I need?
•    NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent experience
•    A full UK driving licence and access to a car in work time with business use insurance
•    Experience of direct patient care in a health or social care setting
•    A care certificate is desirable

Your main responsibility will be to work as part of a multi professional team to support the registered nursing and allied healthcare professionals in delivering clinical and therapeutic care to service users.

This will include contributing to the holistic assessment of service users by assisting clinical staff in the assessment and treatment of patients referred to our services.

Additionally, it will be your duty to provide and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all patients and carers and seek further advice from trained staff if an emergency should arise

  • Able to work without direct supervision, as agreed within the team, to achieve the objectives of the post.
  • Able to prioritise tasks and make correct decisions within a set of clear guidelines.
  • Experience of direct patient care in a health or social care setting.
  • Ability to manipulate fine tools e.g. for venepuncture.
  • Experience of team working and an understanding of team dynamics including what factors make a team work well and what can go wrong and why.
  • Able to use a variety of IT systems e.g. email, EMIS.
