New Role Available, Up to £25.6k per annum +  27 + 8 days Annual leave, multitude of national discounts, and industry leading pension!

Do you have experience as a team leader or supervisor in a customer facing environment? Would you like to make a difference to patient care within the NHS? Do you have the commitment and drive to work in one of the busiest hospitals in the country?

We are currently recruiting for a new Senior Supervisor on  a three month fixed term basis to help us keep our hospitals clean and our patients fed. These posts are an exciting addition to our team in Facilities at our Weston Hospital site.

This post is a Monday to Sunday shift pattern on a 2 week rotation - you will work every other weekend.

Main duties of the job

Your day-to-day activities will include:

  • Managing a large team who are responsible for duties, including: cleaning of wards and general areas; regenerating and serving food to our patients during mealtimes; serving hot drinks and the collection of clinical and non-clinical waste
  • Completing relevant checklists and other paperwork related to the role
  • Managing staff in line with Trust policies and procedures; including absence, annual leave and performance
  • Supporting new employees into the team
  • Assisting in recruitment and selection of staff when necessary

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience of supervising a team
  • Be used to working in large teams of people in a busy environment
  • Have a friendly, approachable personality, with a good work ethic
  • Be flexible to undertake a range of tasks if necessary
  • Be able to communicate with different types of people; including patients, visitors, senior managers and other departments

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of education in GCSE or equivalent level - E
  • Management qualification level 3 or equivalent experience and willingness to undertake the apprenticeship level 3 - E

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in cleaning and/or catering which will include previous experience supervising/managing staff - E
  • Knowledge of National Cleaning Standards and how they are monitored - D
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in NHS setting - D
