Chartridge Ward at Amersham hospital is delighted to announce an opportunity for a band 3 Healthcare and Therapy Clinical Support Worker.
Chartridge ward reflects an integrated approach that has been designed in response to the changing needs of the local population. We care for patients who are medically optimised for discharge, but require additional care to be put in place before they can leave hospital. We work to maintain patients ability and function while they wait to be discharged.
The post will involve working on the ward, supporting the nurses and therapists in promoting independence in preparation for the patient’s return to their home or a 24 hour care environment.
This is an exciting and innovative service. Candidates will be experienced carers and or therapy assistants and be able to demonstrate having experience or knowledge of supporting patients to become more independent. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a range of health professionals . The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable, being able to respond to need at short notice.
In order to respond to the healthcare needs of the local population, the ward covers a 24/ 7 days a week rota which therefore includes weekends and bank holidays.

The role of the Healthcare and Therapy Clinical Support Worker is to support the delivery of nursing and therapy services to patients. The role will support a range of professions, covering predominately nurses, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. The Healthcare and Therapy Support Worker will work under the supervision of the ward nurse in charge.

- Previous experience of working in a ward environment as a HCA or therapy assistant
- Previous rehabilitation experience
- 6 months experience within a customer care (face to face) environment.
- Experience of working in a team
- Good communication skills with colleagues, other disciplines, patients and carers.
- Able to accept and undertake responsibility for designated tasks

- Good team worker
- The post holder may be required to work across all sites and will be required to travel between the sites in a timely manner.
- Internal rotation shift pattern (Early, late, long days including weekends) and may include occasional night work
