Job overview

The post holder will be part of a validation team, working to ensure the patient follow up waiting list is clean and appropriate.

The work will include extracting patient demographics from the Trust system, validating and cleansing of the waiting list.
 

Main duties of the job

Main Duties
1.1 Validation of patient pathways adhering to the Patient Access Policy.
1.2 To have and maintain knowledge and understanding of operational 
processes, practices, and protocols associated with patient pathways
1.3 Investigate issues with pathways and amend the waiting list to show correct information.
1.4 Work as a team to ensure all patient cohorts are validated 
appropriately
1.5 Achieve team target numbers for validation
1.6 Using spreadsheets and other internal Trust data tools to analyse and 
present information in appropriate formats.
1.7 Ensure complex queries or issues escalated by the team are dealt with
in a timely manner
1.8 Alert the Director of Planning & Performance of any data found which 
may indicate a risk of patient clinical harm.
1.9 Identify and report trends found during the validation process

  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills to enable liaison with multidisciplinary team
  • Familiar with Buckinghamshire Healthcare IT systems
  • Able to give 100% attention to detail when validating to prevent breaches of waiting list targets.
  • Aware of Confidentiality code of practice in relation to patients and staff
  • Able to work under pressure and deal with conflict situations to an amicable conclusion
  • Flexible working attitude in order to be multi skilled in different areas of the service.
  • Ensure punctuality and reliability of self to ensure good relationship within team environment.
