Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to start their career in Audiology. Helping adults with hearing impairment fulfil their potential. It is a technical assistant role using the latest technology available in the NHS to help adults in their diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss. You will be based at Wycombe Hospital with weekly visits to Amersham Hospital.

If successful the post holder will be expected to attend suitable development courses chosen by the Head of Audiology which will be supported by the Trust.  The main site will be Wycombe Hospital but you will also work at Amersham Hospital and can expect to cover satellite clinics and the other Trust Hospitals as required hence a valid car license is desirable.

There will be significant internal training which once successfully completed will ensure the employee becomes a key member of the team. Following this assuming sufficient capability, funding and course availability there is the opportunity for funded university study and nationally recognised professional training, which will enhance your career development within the Trust.

To be considered for interview It is expected that candidates have a minimum or equivalent of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English and 3 A' levels or equivalent with one being in Science, Physics, Chemistry or Biology.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be involved primarily in the rehabilitation process using digital hearing aids. 

You  will be expected to provide technical and administrative support to Audiologists. He/he will also be required to participate with all routine duties within the department, to assist in the effective running of the department and work in a professional manner to provide a quality service.

The post holder  will assist with a wider range of more complex  investigations and interventions of non-routine pathology/disability or complex needs as part of a wider healthcare team and with appropriate supervision.
