Job overview

This is a busy, varied, autonomous role working within an established team of booked admissions, and we all work together to give the patient the best service we can within the parameters that are set.

Main duties of the job

We have an established Booked Admissions team of motivated and enthusiastic people within the Surgical management team and we are looking for another like-minded colleague to join us.

The position of Booked Admissions Senior Booking Coordinator is a varied role in a very busy and demanding environment. You will provide support to a number of consultant's theatre lists within the Ophthalmology department.

The Senior booking coordinator is an autonomous role, working for the Ophthalmology team , and requires closely working with Consultants and Service managers and other colleagues, in filling the theatre lists.  Calm and efficient communication with the patient, ensuring all procedures have been followed, will ensure a positive experience for them.

A good standard of education is required, including GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) and in an ideal world you would have worked in a healthcare environment.  However, we are happy to teach the processes required to an applicant who shows the transferrable skills and are willing to learn the processes which would enable them to do this role.  It is a responsible job, but with many different facets and would suit a cheerful and organised person who enjoys communication with everyone – no two days are the same and the team are all working to the same result which is putting the patient first and giving them a positive journey through a difficult time.

Previous applicants need not apply.
