The post-holder will work as part of the Corporate Applications Team, providing day to day support, administration and configuration for a range of clinical systems and applications at BHT.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide technical and operational support working collaboratively within the Clinical Systems team and with end users providing support and guidance. Support would also extend to working with wider Digital and Technology teams across the Trust liaising with business areas to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Support would be provided in relation to incidents and requests, systems and applications administration, configuration and access management carried out in accordance to the agreed levels of services and providing a good customer experience in accordance with the departmental guidelines and policies.

Key systems and applications relate to Clinical Information Systems such as Electronic Patient Record, Shared Care Record, National Systems and Services, Mobile Working solutions, Electronic Document Management, and Identity and Access Management solutions.

The post holder is expected to work flexibly across main Trust sites at Aylesbury, High Wycombe and Amersham.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential criteria
  • Good digital literacy and IT skills
  • Evidence of on-going personal development
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of technical training on Acute and/or Community Electronic Patient Records

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience working with Clinical Systems in a Healthcare organisation
  • Previous experience of working in a Customer Service environment and providing support to staff.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of EPR admin, configuration and support
  • Prior experience of admin/clerical work relating to clinical areas in an NHS Trust

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

Essential criteria
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clearly and legibly in English.
  • Good problem solving and diagnostic skills, leading to swift resolution of issues.
  • Ability to document work accurately.
  • Ability to multi task effectively and independently.
  • Ability to rapidly familiarise self with new or bespoke applications.
  • Able to work flexibly both in terms of hours, location and role.
Desirable criteria
  • Good knowledge of NHS systems and applications used nationally within the NHS.
  • Good understanding of Acute and Community processes including Outpatients, Inpatients, Maternity, theatres and Emergency Departments.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Principles.
  • Awareness of Information Governance policies and obligations, including Data Protection Act and an understanding of patient data confidentiality
  • Practical understanding of IT security issues and how they should be applied in an NHS organisation.

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Essential criteria
  • Flexibility in approach to work and the changing needs of the service.
  • Willing to attend further training as required
Desirable criteria
  • Valid Driving Licence and use of car
  • Able to provide on-call services
