Would you like to do a job that makes a difference every day, using your skills, experience and compassion to help families.  An exciting opportunity has arisen within the 0-5+ Public Health Nursing Team (Health Visiting Service) for a  Locality Clinical Lead. If you are looking for a new challenge and are motivated this could be for you.

We will be looking for an experienced Health Visitor for this permanent position, who must have strong, well developed clinical  skills . They must be able to demonstrate strong leadership and a willingness to support the service innovation and development.

The Locality Clinical Lead will take a key role with the other Locality Clinical Leads across Bucks and Service Leads for the ongoing delivery of the 0-19+ Healthy Child Programme and support in the implementation of innovations to improve service delivery for a progressive Health Visiting offer for 2024+.  

Evidence of recent professional development, leadership and supervision skills is essential,  but you will benefit from ongoing support and development in the post. You must have experience in delivering training, developing public health projects and facilitating change. You will need to have good organisational skills and be an excellent communicator.

2. EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

  • NMC Registered Nurse or Midwife inc Adult, Mental Health, Children or Learning Disability Nursing
  • Specialist Practitioner Qualification in Health Visiting
  • Evidence of Leadership training
  • Evidence of having undertaken training in supervision skills
  • Willing to undertake further personal and professional development required to fulfil the role

  • Evidence of continuing professional development Nurse Prescribing
  • Community Practice Educator qualification
  • Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA)
  • Mentorship in Professional Practice (ENB 998 or MSPP)

3. EXPERIENCE

  • Significant recent experience of working as a Health Visitor delivering the Healthy Child programme.
  • Experience of implementing agreed programmes of change
  • Experience of working across organisational and professional boundaries,
  • Experience of successful team working, supervision and appraisal of staff.
  • Experience of delivering high quality teaching and delivery of health education information to groups/ individuals.
  • Communicates openly, honestly and professionally, and actively promotes team working and building strong working relationships

4. SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of local and national strategic developments, legislation and policy relating to children's policy.
  • Understanding of clinical governance and the application of research and evidence based practice in delivery of services
  • Knowledge and a broad understanding of the Public Health agenda for children and families.
  • Aware of confidentiality code of practice in relation to patient information and staff
  • Working with children, young people and parents in a variety of settings.
  • Ability to work with staff to achieve performance targets for Health Visiting
  • Well organised and be able to manage own time effectively and to guide others prioritising their caseloads
  • Ability to prioritise caseloads and service delivery across teams
  • Ability to engage and motivate staff to embrace change
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral
  • Ability to manage challenging situations
  • Excellent negotiating skills and demonstrate ability to work in partnership with senior colleagues in other areas
  • Excellent IT/computer skills including excel, word, powerpoint
  • Sound clinical skills in related profession and up to date portfolio
