Job overview

We have  a fantastic opportunity for a qualified band 5 nurse to join ward  team at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. We are a general medical ward as well as a medical day unit which runs multiple clinics including and not limited to IBD, MS, Gastro and endocrine and discharge lounge 

We are currently seeking high calibre staff nurses, who are keen, passionate and motivated individuals to join our busy unit which provides a high stand of patient care and values the 'personal touch' to create the best environment for patient recovery.

Main duties of the job

Acts at all times in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct, and within the principles of the scope of Professional Practice and ensures other members of the team also work within these.

Maintain professional working relationships with all members of the cardiac team and effectively contribute to the team’s continual development.
Provide nursing assistance to the Medical Team during procedures and 
investigations
Undertakes the nursing assessment of the patient including risk assessments e.g. Tissue viability, moving and handling and nutrition
 Devise a plan of nursing care based in the nursing assessment, taking into account the medical prescription
 Ensures planned nursing care is delivered safely and effectively taking into account the views of the patient and their relatives. Advise on health promotion and the prevention of illness.

Maintains absolute confidentiality in respect of all medical and nursing records and also interpersonal issues with colleagues.
Interpret the significance of the patient’s clinical observations and records and taking appropriate action but ensuring senior nursing staff are kept informed at all times.
