Job overview

This is an exciting Lead Nurse opportunity within Integrated medicine caring for our medical specialities across our 3 hospital sites and in the community. 

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and forward thinking Registered Nurse to lead the service, with a key focus on staff and service development to ensure provision of excellent patient care through evidence-based practice. 

You will have expert skills and experience in team leadership and change management and have skills in working collaboratively with Commissioners and third-party agencies.

You will display excellent partnership working with patients, their families/carers, multi-disciplinary teams, social services, and intermediate care as well as managers and consultants at both a clinical and service level.

You will be a member of the Senior Leadership for the services you oversee and work closely with the Care Group management team

Main duties of the job

  • Act as the professional advisor in respect of nursing/midwifery, managerial and operational issues that arise across services. To collaborate with other professionals as necessary for advice and guidance. 
  • Demonstrate professional leadership for Nursing/Midwifery across the integrated medicine  services, setting positive and clear expectations for delivery which have exemplary standards of accessibility, quality, safety and patient/carer experience, infection prevention and control, and safeguarding. This includes bringing a positive and professional focus on activities relating to recruitment, retention and workforce development as well as research, education and practice.
     
  • Work collaboratively with all teams across the services. You will bring a clear focus on improving the quality & patient experience of existing services but critically you will sponsor/lead service transformation activities.

  • Relevant Degree or recordable qualification

EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive experience at Senior Nurse/Midwife level
  • Proven experience in development and implementation of corporate and professional strategies
  • Proven experience in the implementation and monitoring of quality measurement and improvement tools
  • Demonstrable experience of improving patient experience in a range of settings
  • Demonstrable experience of improving patient safety at service or organisational level
  • Experience of chairing meetings and managing diverse attendance and contributions
