Job overview

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual to be part of a new exciting team  for the Virtual Ward  

This role requires integrated working with our community partners  and building close working relationships with a wide range of the multidisciplinary team.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will need to have the ability to deal with challenging situations in a professional and calm manner.

***Applicant will require  full clean driving licence with access to vehicle***

Please note that we can only consider applications from individuals with a live NMC registration or UK nursing students awaiting their PIN, as we are currently unable to support OSCE.

Main duties of the job

To work within a clinical team alongside the ward manager/lead nurse/deputy sisters, clinical lead and provide the highest quality of care required to support each patient in their care pathway.

  • Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care
  • IV medication administration
  • Peripheral cannulation skills
  • Understanding of nursing care delivery
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of discharge planning
  • Management of acute patients

Experience

Desirable criteria
  • Experience of teaching junior staff
  • Experience of supporting/mentoring junior staff
  • Experience of shift management in the absence of senior colleagues
  • Experience of audit processes
