Job overview

This post is to commence as soon as possible for a period of 12 months.

The successful candidate will join a growing team of Anaesthetists who support a large range of services within this large tertiary hospital. The cases you are likely to encounter as a Locum Consultant span a diverse range including major general, oncology, trauma & orthopaedics, vascular, urology, gynaecology and ENT.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will join an expanding, innovative and dynamic department of 85 Consultants, 50 Trainees/Clinical Fellows and 16 Senior Clinical Fellows, providing Anaesthetic services in this thriving, modern teaching hospital.

The on-call role currently involves an orthopaedic trauma list during the evening once a week, with the potential to transition to either the general on-call rota or the newly available postoperative care unit on-call rota during the course of employment.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Anaesthesia or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

Applications from job seekers who require skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

It is a requirement for skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, to present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years.
