Staff Nurse - Paediatrics (Clinic 6)

We are looking for a Paediatric Nurse to join our team across our Paediatric Outpatients Departments.
Our work is extremely diverse and wide ranging and is spread across several areas.
We look after children from 0-15 years old, under a number of specialities including general paediatrics, cardiac, respiratory, spinal surgery, endocrinology and gastroenterology.
Addenbrookes is well respected both locally and as a regional specialist treatment centre.
We provide excellent care across medical and surgical specialities and sub specialities.
Our ethos of child centred care and multi-professional collaboration drives our service, alongside a commitment to family focused teamwork.
We believe in supporting patients, their families and our staff and we offer a diverse range of dedicated paediatric psychosocial and clinical support services.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
· To communicate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure an optimum level of safe and effective patient care in all Paediatric Outpatient areas.
· To assess care needs leading to the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
· To participate in a full range of shifts.
·To be responsible for all aspects of clinical governance and risk management with outpatient clinics.
·To work with the senior nursing team on the agenda for children and young people seen outside of designated paediatric areas.

Experience

- Some General Paediatric Nursing experience, delivering evidenced based nursing care without supervision to children in an acute hospital setting

- Experience in leading a team or in routinely coordinating a shift on a children’s ward/clinic
- Experience in managing a change in clinical practice
Knowledge

- Awareness of professional issues
- Evidence of up to date paediatric nursing skills and knowledge
- Good understanding of Safeguarding issues

- Understanding of chronic disease management
- Knowledge of community support networks available to children, parents and families

- Competent to care for children and their families in a safe and effective manner without direct supervision
