The CUH Chaplaincy team is looking for a proven Pastoral Practitioner to join our Team to provide pastoral, spiritual and religious care to patients, their carers and staff. Working flexibly as part of the wider Chaplaincy Team, you will utilise your pastoral skills to help people respond to the challenges they are experiencing through drawing upon their spiritual resources.

You will be capable of working independently, but collaboratively  to deliver Chaplaincy Service at Cambridge University Hospital and other sites of delivery. You will bring with you an ability to empathise for others, pastoral skill to safely explore with them their needs and the competency to support them religiously and spirituality.

You will be working within a supportive team to meet the needs of those we serve and bring your distinct contribution to aid the continual development of Chaplaincy provision. Therefore, we are looking for someone with exceptional team working skills, a positive collaborative approach to complex problems, proven pastoral skills and whom operates out of their own depth of practice in their faith / beliefs.

At CUH, the Chaplain will provide the following:
Deliver spiritual care to patients, their loved ones and staff, utilising their understanding of faith / belief, combined with their experience in pastoral care to provide person-centred support.

Work collaboratively within the Chaplaincy Team, and wider CUH teams, to ensure integrated practice, optimal care and adherence to guidelines / standard operating procedures.

Operate reflectively as a Practitioner, seeking to develop their practice and be a catalyst for wider team change to the benefit of the hospital and patients we serve.

Provide compassionate, empathetic and holistic staff support to sustain wellbeing and spiritual health.

Working one to one, in groups and with teams.

To work flexibly across our service delivery locations, supporting Chaplaincy colleagues and being responsive to the demands upon the Chaplaincy Service.

To contribute towards the development and delivery of training within the Trust.
