We have an excellent opportunity for an Orthoptist to join our Orthoptic Department at Addenbrooke's Hospital.  We welcome an experienced Orthoptist or newly qualified Orthoptists who wish to develop their skills and knowledge in Orthoptics and Ophthalmology.

A  newly-qualified Orthoptist would  start at Band 5 and progress to  a Band 6 role upon successful training.

Addenbrooke’s Hospital is a large teaching hospital and a research centre with strong affiliations with Cambridge University. It has a rich history of breaking the barriers of modern medicine and providing compassionate care for the patients.

You will have a varied and interesting workload with the opportunity to work alongside ophthalmologists who are experts in their field including strabismus, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Neuro-ophthalmology and more.

We provide a clear pathway for career progression and plenty of opportunities to gain experience in extended roles, with a good level of  training and mentoring provided.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

• Provide timely Paediatric and Adult Orthoptic Services at Addenbrooke’s NHS Trust and off site Community Services, including specialist Orthoptic Services.
• Participate in extended orthoptic clinical roles.
• Personally deliver clinical supervision and instruction to Orthoptists, undergraduate Orthoptists and other healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to departmental teaching, research and audit.
• Ensure that the policies and procedures of the Department of Orthoptics and Addenbrooke’s NHS Trust are adhered to.
