Division C Practice Development team are looking for two motivated individuals with a passion for teaching to join the team. You will deliver a diverse range of training including the delivery of training to staff new to the Trust both newly qualified and staff from overseas to consolidate prior learning and become familiar with CUH policies and procedures relevant to their daily work. You will be responsible for upskilling existing team members with more specialised skills and knowledge e.g. Caring for patients with Dementia / Alzheimer’s / NG and PEG feeding / PICC unblocking etc, and for supporting senior sisters and charge nurses to deliver training specific to the skills analysis for their clinical area.

You will support nurses working within a range of our wards and as such a range of experience and transferable skills is desirable. Specialities covered within the division currently includes Care of the Elderly/ hepatology /nephrology / transplant /infectious diseases /general medicine /respiratory medicine /emergency assessment units / Infusion centre and OPAT. You will support and assess learners on a daily basis and therefore should hold the Practice supervisor and Practice Assessor qualification or equivalent.

You will deliver formal training face to face in classrooms as well as informal training in the clinical areas. Training and support with this will be given. You will also be expected to work a minimum of one clinical shift each month across the division.

Main duties:

Working alongside staff in the clinical areas to provide education and support

Undertaking Trust required assessments of competency

Developing and implementing learning resources

Planning, facilitating and teaching on study days/ sessions

Taking forward improvements in practice

Undertaking / assisting with ward audits where required

This is a full time role (37.5hrs per week). Working hours are Monday – Friday with a range of early / late / long days between the hours of 7am and 7pm.  Job share will be considered on a case by case basis.
