Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow (ST6+/Post CCT) in Ophthalmology (Vitreoretinal Surgery) to commence 06 January 2025 for 12 months.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
The Vitreoretinal Service deals with the full range of vitreoretinal conditions including provision of the National Stickler Syndrome Service led by Mr Martin Snead. The post-holder’s timetable will include vitreoretinal clinics and surgical sessions. Previous vitreoretinal experience is not essential as training will be consultant-supervised from the outset.
The medical retina and vitreoretinal services are supported by a dedicated ophthalmic imaging suite which provides retinal photography, OCT imaging, fluorescein and ICG angiography and B-scan ultrasonography.
It is expected that the post-holder will contribute to the general emergency eye service (currently 1 in 6, second on-call rota).

Full Registration and a Licence to practice with the General Medical Council at time of commencement is required.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
