The community In-Patients service is based across three hospital locations in Cambridgeshire , Brookfields Hospital in Cambridge, Princess of Wales in Ely and North Cambridgeshire Hospital in Wisbech. These three wards provide rehabilitation to patients after prolonged periods of care in acute hospitals or whilst recovering from physical injuries.

The multidisciplinary rehabilitation team delivers programmes of care to help people recover from their injuries, whilst helping them prepare to return to normal living, or make a smooth transition to long term, palliative or residential care.

This vacancy will be based at Cambridge Rehab Unit, Brookfields Hospital

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and their environment for meals.
  • Assist with serving meals and drinks.
  • Ordering diets using the patients care plan under the direction of the Professional Staff.
  • Clean and make good patient dining areas after mealtimes.
  • Observing patients and reporting changes to professional staff.
  • Maintain a hygienic and safe kitchen environment.
  • Prepare vacated beds for new patients.
  • Clean and tidy patients’ lockers and bed tables.
  • Carry out general light cleaning duties as necessary to maintain a high standard of hygiene, comfort and safety.
  • Assist in removing used clinical waste bags according to infection control policy.
  • Report equipment faults and defects.
  • Escorting patients as delegated
