Are you an experienced HCA/ PA looking for a new role? We are recruiting for the new Community Diagnostic Centre at Ely!  

 The opening of the new CDC at Ely presents an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the local community.

The aim is to make it easier for people to access diagnostic services such as CT, X-Ray, MRI, Ultrasound, Echo and Respiratory outside of acute hospital facilities. This approach will help alleviate the pressure on hospitals, offer quicker access to tests, and enhance convenience for patients.

As Healthcare Support Worker, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, performing dedicated specialised tasks including venepuncture and intravenous cannulation after appropriate training. You will also provide support with administrative tasks and act as a chaperone when required. You will serve as a champion for patient safety and act as an ambassador for NHS values ensuring excellent healthcare and customer service.

We encourage professional development opportunities to grow within the scope of practice and upskill yourself with support from the wider team.

This is a full time position, 37.5 flexible working hours per week in order to support a service that will run 7 days a week and extended hours 8am-8pm.

Please kindly note you will be required to complete training at Cambridge University Hospitals during the initial weeks.

You will work as part of a team providing a high quality of service to patients, colleagues and the public.

Under the direction of the registered practitioner in charge, ensure a smooth workflow by organising patients and liaising with the multi-disciplinary team.

Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures including the completion of pre-procedural assessments/checklists and clinical observations.

Actively monitor and report any change in patient condition or any problem or hazard within the department to the registered practitioner in charge.

  • Literacy and Numeracy (level 2) or equivalent e.g. Maths/English GCSE grade C or above/willing to work towards and achieve within 6 months of commencing the Band 3 role.

Experience
