Base in either Fulbourn, Huntingdon or Peterborough.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR professional to join our Team, in the role of HR Business Partner. The role will be working to support the delivery of a high quality strategic and operational people management service.

The post holder will work with the Trusts directorates, in an HR Business Partnering model, working with managers and senior leaders across the Trust to support them in achieving the Trusts strategic ambitions. Also providing practical advice on all aspects of HR work, including employee relations issues, organisational change, TUPE etc.

The post holder will also have line management responsibility for a Human Resources Advisor(s).

The role is varied, and no two days are the same, representing the HR Operational Team at regular business and performance meetings including the interpretation of data and trends as required.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, coaching and negotiating skills and the ability to work as an autonomous practitioner are essential to working in the role. The team work on a hybrid basis and we are happy to consider options for flexible working to support your work life balance.

Main duties of the job

  • To work in partnership with Service Directors and Senior Managers to provide professional customer-focused HR advice and HR solutions that support the business needs.
  • To identify and manage workforce issues and major change programmes.
  • To support the development, integration and implementation of corporate HR policy and practice

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of responsibilities, these will include but are not limited to the following:

Workforce strategies and plans: To work in partnership with managers and the HR Team to establish the HR strategies and plans necessary to support the successful delivery of customer-focused HR services, achievement of business targets and cost improvement initiatives.

Workforce performance: To procure and analyse workforce metrics and trends as a means of contributing to and enhancing workforce productivity. To work with Service Directors and Senior Managers to develop plans and strategies to ensure that the workforce meets performance targets.

To provide HR advice: in connection with business tenders, workforce aspects of service transfer, or new service implementation. Ensuring a customer service focus is provided with all aspects of the HR Service and Delivery.

HR practice: To be an advocate for HR management best practice through the fair, efficient and pragmatic application of best practice techniques and demonstrating a Just Culture approach; advising managers on employment legislation, the interpretation of Agenda for Change and local terms & conditions of employment and the organisation’s own policies and procedures. This will include informal coaching and the development of and presenting of courses on HR topics.

Education/qualifications

Essential criteria
  • CIPD qualified /post graduate diploma in HRM Or Extensive Professional experience.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previously operated at senior HR level/Complex ER cases/Organisational Change/TUPE.
  • Experience of working in a complex and unionised organisation.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills including in complex environments.
  • Line management and performance management experience.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Influencing / negotiating skills / Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to deal with conflict and challenging situations including making decisions.
  • Ability to effectively use IT packages e.g. Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Evidence of up-to-date knowledge and ongoing training in employment legislation or other discipline.
