Job overview

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse with a keen interest in working in the acute environment. We are seeking compassionate staff to join our medical ward.

Apple Tree ward is a 30 bedded general medical and stroke rehab ward. Apple tree is a busy medical ward which cares for patients from a variety of ages and backgrounds with a range of medical conditions, as well as care for patients who has had a stroke and needs rehabilitation.

There is an established medical and stroke team who work closely with the nursing team to provide holistic patient centred care. The Apple Tree team are friendly and welcoming and strive to work together to do the best for their patients and support each other.  Staff members on the ward are supported by the senior team to develop new skills and expand existing skills.

Main duties of the job

To work within a clinical team alongside the Ward Manager/Deputy Sisters and the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to provide high quality care to patients in the ward. 

You would develop skills to look after patients who require acute care and discharge planning including encouraging them to maintain and improve their mobility.
