This is an excellent opportunity for staff working in acute areas who are keen to advance their skills and knowledge further in the critical care speciality. We are able to offer the right candidate a comprehensive competency based development programme including study days, initial supervised practice period and educator support for development of enhanced skills and knowledge. The programme is fully supported by mentors and a new starter pack.
The work within Critical Care changes quickly and can be physically, mentally and emotionally demanding. The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills, be a good team player, be able to work under pressure and have excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.

Practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Code of Conduct for nurses, midwives and health visitors.
Promote a calm, quiet, caring and dignified environment which is conducive to generating confidence in patients and visitors at all times.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for critically ill patients without direct supervision after successful completion of appropriate critical care competences.
Work effectively as a multidisciplinary team to ensure standards of care are maintained.
Facilitate others within a learning experience and act as mentor/assessor to junior staff, pre and post registration students.
Take charge of a group of patients within the department following completion of internal development programme, supervising other staff and ensuring patient safety in the absence of Sister or deputy.
Maintain high standards of care, ensuring care is delivered in accordance with Trust and national guidance.
