Job overview
Have you considered developing your Urology skills in a growing and research-oriented Trust?
We are seeking a well-motivated and innovative Consultant Urologist to assist in the delivery of high-quality evidence-based Urology Clinical services while implementing innovative working practices in creating a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
Joining a team of Consultants and Specialist Doctors, you will share the responsibility for the provision of care to our patients, and you will support the development of Clinical Governance using audit findings to improve the quality of treatment and to minimise clinical risk.
Research is important for us. We have established strong working partnerships with Cambridge as our Tertiary and Cancer Network Centre in developing rapid pathways for diagnostics of Cancer.
We are committed to developing careers and we will offer you the encouragement and support to pursue your own subspecialty within the department. In managing your daily clinical and administrative duties, a secretary and clerical staff will be provided.
You must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register, or within six months of being admitted to the Register for Trainees if in a Training Programme within the UK. In addition, you must be on the GMC Specialist Register, or within 6 months of achieving CCST.
Main duties of the job
The job plan has been created to include 10 PAs with 1 in 8 basis on-call Urology services cover. You will assist colleagues reciprocally to cover absence. Emergency cover for patients is provided at all sites.
Your focus will be oriented to the delivery of increased day case and outpatient care with Urology Assessment and Treatment centres at Stamford and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals.
You will be supported by colleagues to promote the collective aims of the department and the development of multi-disciplinary teams with shared responsibility for the provision of care to our patients.
You will contribute to the development of clinical governance, using audit findings to improve the quality of treatment and to minimise clinical risk.
As a specialist leader in Urology, you will develop innovative working practices, and support the growing clinical contribution of non-medical staff.
Working for our organisation
We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in our workforce and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, with a special focus on welcoming individuals from disabled, Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, as well as those from our local area.
