Job overview
The post holder will provide a comprehensive service to the Trust with a focus to facilitate effective and timely Imaging examinations. The role requires a consistent and coordinated approach to the operational management of patient flow, with an emphasis on maintaining an on-going and ‘real time’ understanding of the department’s current and predicted position. These patients are on a cancer pathway and therefore strict timescales must be adhered to.
The post holder is required to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team internal and external to the organisation.
The post holder will need to work clinically assisting the team with patients as required.
Main duties of the job
- To support the leadership team, section heads and Radiology Consultants in maintaining patient flow through Diagnostic Imaging.
- To manage the maintenance of CRIS & eTrack to ensure it reflects the current bookings and capacity.
- With the Principal Radiographers and Modality Teams, identify patients by urgency appointments and engage plans to proactively pull patients into Imaging.
- Liaise with the cancer services team as appropriate, attending meetings as required.
- Assist with the booking of examinations as required.
- Troubleshoot with the Leadership team any issues with appointment availability.
- Deal with enquiries liaising with the Principal Radiographers and Modality Teams where required.
- Transfer patients to the other modalities in urgent cases.
- Liaise with porters and resolve issues preventing prompt patient transfer.
- Ensure diagnostic requests are expedited promptly and escalate any delays to the appropriate person.
- Utilise IT systems to secure and record timely and accurate data relevant to the role and function.
- Support senior staff in predicting any shortfalls in capacity, taking delegated remedial action as required.
- To support the Principal Radiographers with administrative duties e.g. staff rota’s, meeting minutes and CRIS diary management.
- Cover clinical lists assisting the Radiographers when required.

- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
Experience

- Previous Customer Service experience
