Main duties of the job

We are currently looking to recruit a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to join our friendly team. The ideal candidate for this position would be a highly motivated, flexible, dynamic, caring and experienced Registered Nurse. You will have the ability to work autonomously as well as having good organisational and communication skills.  You would be helping to manage the day to day running of the ward and supporting the Ward Manager with all aspects of managing the ward team and developing their skills and competence. 

You will be fully supported by the matron, ward manager and other band 6’s that work regularly on the floor alongside the team, embedding the highest level of nursing skills and care. We strive to promote a friendly and supportive environment where learning from each other is paramount.

  • Registered nurse. 24 months experience of speciality and or relevant post registration course
  • Teaching qualification.
  • ILS Provider.

Experience

  • Demonstrates an understanding of: Accountability & responsibility, Evidence based practice, Clinical supervision, Ability to lead a clinical area/service
  • Awareness of current developments in healthcare and professional nursing relevant to the post.
  • Awareness of role of audit and research in effecting change in nursing practice.
  • Ability to function as part of the multi professional team.
  • Can demonstrate the clinical decision making process. Ability to assess the competence of others.
