As the Lead Nurse for Stroke, you will be a highly visual, dynamic, forward-thinking Nurse with excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills and the ability to motivate and support others through change and service development.
You will be working 40% of your time in clinical duties as a stroke coordinator at PCH, and direct line manager of the Stroke Coordinator Nursing team, you will also provide professional guidance, leadership and direction to the Stroke nursing teams across the organisation.
You will play an integral role in the operational and strategic developments of the service across the stroke pathway, by working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, Clinical Lead, Divisional Operation Manager, Service Manager and Senior Leadership Team to ensure the team is empowered and skilled in the delivery of outstanding care to service users across the pathway.
In collaboration with the Clinical Lead for Stroke services you will ensure stroke services at the trust meet national standards, including improving status in Stroke sentinel national audit programme (SSNAP).

Lead and manage unpredictable and unplanned clinical situations.
Participate in resource management, strategic service development, planning and service improvement
Lead, monitor, develop and appraise staff and learners.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse
- Post registration qualification in Stroke
- Advanced Clinical Assessment Skills qualification
- Evidence of post registration professional development and portfolio of learning
- Teaching and Mentorship qualification
- Leadership/Management qualification/module (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
Desirable criteria
- Master’s degree or willingness to work towards
- Advanced Communication skills course
- Non-Medical Prescribing Module
- Research Training
- Quality Improvement Qualification
- After Action Review/ Patient safety training
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant clinical experience within Stroke Medicine
- Expereince of leading service change
- Experience of budget management
- Experience of leading a team
