Job overview

Are you a confident and skilled Clinical Pharmacist aiming to pursue your career in an unfamiliar and challenging setting with excellent work-life balance?

Join the team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust to deliver key pharmacy services to the Medical Division across Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon. You will be required to work cross-site dividing your time between each hospital within the Trust footprint. Both hospitals are served by good transport links across the region and beyond.

As a lead pharmacist, you will join a friendly and supportive team assisting the Principal Pharmacist in the delivery of corporate, divisional and departmental operational and strategic priorities, as well as contributing to the modernisation of pharmacy services across the Trust.

We can offer endless opportunities for professional development. You will be encouraged to develop and deliver prescribing activities within a specialist CBU clinic.

To be eligible for this role, you will be an excellent communicator and have strong organisational skills. With post-registration experience of hospital pharmacy practice, you will hold a Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent post-graduate qualification. There will be opportunities to undertake a non-medical prescribing qualification if not already held.

**This post will receive a £1000 Welcome Bonus, payable in one instalment upon commencement, subject to terms and conditions.**

Main duties of the job

You will play a key role in the development and delivery of pharmacy services providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to medical wards to ensure the accuracy, legality, safety and efficacy of medicine use through the appropriate planning and allocation of work.

During the consultant and MDT ward rounds, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of evidence-based advice/guidance on medications to ensure their safe and effective use. In addition, you will take responsibility for the development and review of policies, procedures and guidelines for medicine use within medicine services.

You will be supporting pharmacy business planning and implementation of electronic clinical systems both across the Trust and local care community to support cost-effective, patient-focussed service provision.

As an experienced clinical pharmacist, you will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training and education on medicine issues within Medicine CBU to members of the pharmacy service and the wider MDT. In addition, you will provide expert clinical and service information to the pharmacy senior management team to support departmental operational service development and strategic planning.
