Are you a dynamic, forward-thinking physiotherapist with a passion for neurology? The Outpatient Neuro Physiotherapy Team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist to join our dedicated team and provide outstanding care to patients across Peterborough City Hospital and Stamford Hospital.

About Us:
Our team offers a comprehensive neuro physiotherapy service, including individual and group clinics, and works closely with Neurologists, the MS Nurse Specialist and the Neuropsychiatry MDT. We provide high-quality care to a diverse range of patients referred by local GPs, Neurologists, MS and Parkinson’s Disease Nurse Specialists, Rehabilitation Consultants, and out-of-area hospitals, including Addenbrooke’s and Sheffield Spinal Unit.

Our services include:

  • Vestibular rehabilitation.
  • Facial palsy rehabilitation.
  • Assessment and provision of Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) for foot drop

Main duties of the job

About the Role:
This is a full-time, 37.5-hour position requiring a dedicated and experienced physiotherapist with a strong neurology background. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and treating patients with complex presentations using evidence-based practices.
  • Ensuring safe, efficient, and effective delivery of patient-focused care aligned with national standards.
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams.
  • Supervising Band 5 and support staff and providing clinical supervision.
  • Participating in service development projects and weekend working as required.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registered
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
Desirable criteria
  • CSP member according to profession

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Wide variety of band 5 rotations
  • Acute Hospital Experience
  • Experience of working within a neurology setting
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of managing staff

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Sound level of theoretical knowledge within the field of neurology
  • Basic knowledge of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience in the use of basic IT systems for data recording

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Able to work as a team member and independently
  • Good Clinical Reasoning skills
  • Ability to present information in logical concise manner

Aptitudes

Essential criteria
  • Ability to manage own time and pressure including clinical caseload
