Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for experienced nurses to join us in a senior role within our progressive and forward thinking department to cover secondment period of 12 months. The candidate must have a knowledge and interest in Respiratory.

The successful applicant will work alongside senior nursing and medical staff to ensure a high standard of clinical care is delivered and that our team of enthusiastic and skilled nursing staff receive appropriate education and professional development.

You will need:

  • Recent cardiology experience as a Band 5
  • Post registration qualification or experience in respiratory care
  • Degree level education (or a commitment to work towards)

The successful applicant will be a good communicator, provide a high standard of clinical skills, and be keen to help drive and influence innovative practice within isolation nursing.

Please note that we can only consider applications from individuals with a live NMC registration or UK nursing students awaiting their PIN, as we are currently unable to support OSCE.

Main duties of the job

To act as team leader taking responsibility for the organisation and day to day management of a team of nurses.

To effectively lead and be responsible for the ward team and clinical care carried out in a designated area in absence of and in conjunction with the Ward Manager.

To lead in designated area/s in close liaison with the Ward Manager, Matrons and the Practice Development Team to provide the highest quality of assessment and evaluated care required to support each patient in their care pathway.
