Job overview

An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen to join our Emergency departments at Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital as a Patient Tracker. 

Working alongside a busy team of administrative and clinical staff this is role is pivotal in supporting our teams deliver the best possible care for our patients. 

You will be required to provide a variety of administrative tasks all of which improve the patient journey through our department.  

Our administrative team in the Emergency Departments are a strong team,  all providing a variety of administrative roles including senior secretaries, administrators, team leaders, ward managers assistants and receptionists as well as the patient trackers.

Shifts are: 07.30 - 18.15 hrs & 18.00 - 03.00  hrs covering seven days a week.

The role is cross site between Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke  Hospitals.

Main duties of the job

Essential skills for this role are fast accurate keyboard skills, excellent customer service experience and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

You must be able to multitask, remain calm under pressure, prioritise and troubleshoot within in a busy fast pace environment. Flexibility, reliability, adaptability and working well as part of a team are essential for the Patient Tracker role.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience
  • Junior Management/Team Leader Qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous Customer Service experience (minimum of 12 months)
Desirable criteria
  • 1 year experience of working in an ED/ healthcare environment
  • 1 year previous administration experience to NVQ level 2 or equivalent

Knowledge

  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication
