The Health Improvement Division within Public Health Wales leads action at a national or all Wales level to improve the health of the population, prevent ill health and reduce inequalities by tackling health harming behaviours such as poor diet, smoking and drinking above guidelines. We also lead work relating to the health of children and young people, particularly in the early years and to promote mental wellbeing. We do this by working closely with our strategic partners in Government, other national bodies and the Directors of Public Health and with a range of partners such as schools, workplaces, community groups, as well as local government and the NHS.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic individuals with excellent communication and organisational skills to contribute to work across a number of programmes of work. If successful, you will join a team responsible for developing and maintaining effective communication mechanisms, co-ordinating the day to day delivery and monitoring of our programmes and supporting the management of social media and website content.
If you are highly motivated with a strong demonstrable background in project co-ordination and delivery, who shares our values we welcome your application.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role and we are particularly keen to encourage applications from Welsh speaking candidates. You should either hold or be willing to work towards registration as a Public Health Practitioner with the UK Public Health Register.
