Job overview

An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as the Health Records Team Leader at Velindre University NHS Trust. 

The Health Records Team Leader will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of all operational aspects of Health Records Library Services and will include staff management issues.  They will be responsible for the management of Health Records Systems in accordance with Trust and Departmental policies on Record Management Standards and procedures. To provide training to staff within the Health Records Library and other staff throughout Velindre NHS Trust on Health Records issues.

 

Main duties of the job

Working closely with all users to achieve a more efficient and effective service. The post holder will review tasks, establish team working to increase productivity and reduce duplications of effort to help enhance job enrichment.  They will provide the day to day supervision of the Health Records staff, including the co-ordination of annual leave and the provision of cover. Monitor and oversee the training needs for the staff within their team and provide guidance.

They will be responsible for the management of Health Records Systems in accordance with Trust and Departmental policies on Record Management Standards and procedures. To provide training to staff within the Health Records and other staff throughout Velindre NHS Trust on Health Records issues.

The Health Records Team Leader will provide cross cover for the Health Records  Medical Secretarial Team Lead as required to support service. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Evidence of Continuous professional development
  • Experience in dealing with all disciplines of staff.
  • Specialist knowledge of Health Records systems
Desirable criteria
  • Degree in Health Informatics
  • IQT Silver
  • Medical Secretarial Diploma
  • Knowledge of NHS systems
  • Supervisory Team Leader experience
