Job overview

As the Assistant SC Manager for the Materials Management, throughout South/East/West Wales, the post holder’s role is to assist the Supply Chain Area Manager to enable efficient, effective use of resources, allowing the delivery of efficient and effective services, in areas such as Quality, Stock Management, Stock Resilience, at Internal and External establishments, Consolidating Practices, maximising opportunities wherever possible, ensuring targets and deliverables are successfully achieved.  
Supporting NWSSP Procurement Services Senior Leadership Team on the local and wider business plans ensuring they reflect the organisation’s annual delivery plan and strategies set out within its Integrated Medium-Term Plan.
The Assistant SC Area Manager will assist the Supply Chain Area Manager in networking and collaborating with different stakeholders, partners & contractors, the ability to communicate to all key stakeholders, establish, maintain effective working relationships is a fundamental aspect of this role.
You should demonstrate a good understanding of NHS inventory and warehouse management systems, Business Quality Documents Management Systems.
 A resilient personality and track record of delivering creative and innovative solutions are required for success in this role.
The ability to travel between sites is Essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

To effectively develop and manage the Supply Chain process at various Supply Chain locations in the South west Wales                                                 
• Working closely with the Area & Regional Manager to feedback quality information & updates on issues at each of the designated sites.                     
 • To Manage staff sickness effectively per the Managing Attendance at Work policy                                                                                                                   
• Ability to travel to SCLT locations across Wales (A vehicle will be provided, or expenses reimbursed – Business insurance required to use own vehicle).     
 • To contribute to the overall strategic direction of the department whilst adhering to the departments ISO / Quality framework.                                       
• To review Staff Performance, evaluate and act where required                       
 • To deputise for the Supply Chain Area Manager as when required

  • Qualified to MCIPS (Level 5-6)/NVQ4, or working towards
  • Previous Management experience in a logistics environment
  • Competent in the application of Trust Policies and Procedures
