Job overview
A permanent full time vacancy has arisen for a Payroll Officer within Employment Services Division in NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership. The position holder will be part of a team and will provide a complete and comprehensive Payroll Service to the employees of NHS Wales. It will be necessary at times, to work on a self managed basis to ensure consistent high level of performance delivery in a confidential, accountable and customer focused manner.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Contribute to the provision of a comprehensive payroll service to employees of NHS organisations contracted to the NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership through a Service Level Agreement.
Work with other Payroll Officers, Supervisors and Team Leaders to ensure that staff are paid accurately and on time and to ensure a consistent approach to working practice. Supervise Payroll Assistants on a day-to-day basis
Provide a customer-focussed service to managers and staff and assist senior payroll staff in the continual review of the payroll processes to help identify and implement changes to service provision by improved ways of working. Assist the senior staff in the implementation of new systems and procedures in line with new legislation.
Ensure that all requests are handled efficiently and effectively and maintain responsibility for specific areas of payroll activity. Where appropriate, assist external
