An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Community Outpatients department within Hywel Dda University Health Board for an enthusiastic, flexible and proactive Band 4 Assistant Practitioner.

The successful candidate will join our friendly, motivated, and busy Outpatients department based at Aberaeron Integrated Care Centre, and will also be required to cover sessions in Cardigan Integrated Care Centre when needed. 

The post holder will be trained in a range of skills and gain competencies to support the delivery of care provided to our patients. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is committed to ongoing clinical development. 

Main duties of the job

Outpatient’s is a diverse, multidisciplinary environment that requires flexible and adaptable skills, an aptitude to learn and a motivation to develop your own skills. We cover a wide range of specialities including Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Ear Nose and Throat clinics, paediatric clinics as well as our new nurse led ear wax micro suction clinics, Trial without catheter clinics, and we will be starting our routine catheter change clinics soon. 

The successful candidate will undertake identified duties in relation to the care environment and the direct care of the patient as identified and delegated by a registered nurse, in accordance with the Health Board policies and procedures.

You need to be enthusiastic, organised and committed to give high quality nursing care and be able to work well as part of a team. You will consistently ensure that a patient’s privacy, dignity and psychological well-being is always maintained and that the care given is patient centred.

We need individuals who are forward thinking, well organised with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
