We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Assistant Practitioner to join our dedicated and friendly team of staff on the Clinical Decisions Unit in Glangwili General Hospital.

This post is advertised as a Band 4 and ideally candidates for this role must have achieved the Level 4 vocational qualification in a relevant health care associated subject / Certificate in Higher Education Health Care Support Worker. 

However applicants who do not currently hold the full qualification for the Band 4 role are encouraged to apply, and if successful, will need to attain the qualification within 12 months and will be appointed under the All Wales Annex 21 rules. Candidates must have modules 1 and 2 already achieved and complete 3 and 4 within one year of appointment.

This means they will be supported by a development plan. During the first year payment will be 75% of the top rate of Band 4 pay and  following successful completion of the  Level 4 vocational qualification in a relevant health care associated subject / Certificate in Higher Education Health Care Support Worker. the post holder will then be paid at Band 4 (minimum point on the scale). Support and supervision will be provided in order to develop the successful applicant to the Band 4 role. Failure to achieve the qualification and required competencies in the designated timeframe could result in re-deployment.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a high standard of person-centred, safe, individualised care under the delegated authority of a registered nurse. 

To perform duties and activities within the framework of a plan of care.

To assist patients in achieving physical and emotional well-being and comfort.

To ensure that any changes in a patient's condition is reported immediately to the appropriate Registered Nurse.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
