The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.

Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Registered on part 1 of the NMC register or registered midwife
- Evidence of ongoing dynamic continuing professional development within the specialty linked to demonstrable clinical competencies to postgraduate diploma level
- Evidence of continuous management development
- Assessing and mentoring qualification
- NLS Course
Desirable criteria
- Educated to Masters level in a healthcare related subject / or willing to work towards
- Evidence of current leadership course or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience as Senior Ward Sister / Charge Nurse or equivalent experience level in neonatal intensive care
- Experience of leading a service improvement, including complex change management programmes
- Experience of effective resource management
- Experience of working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
- Awareness of the NHS Agenda at local and national level
- Recent experience of working in the speciality
- Experience of leading and managing others
- Experience of measuring and evaluating outcomes to inform service improvement
- Ability to critically analyse complex information and evaluate options to identify service improvements
Language Skills
Desirable criteria
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
