Main duties of the job

These appointments are Health Board wide (base agreed on offer of appointment), the successful candidates would join the Radiology team to provide CT and MRI reporting duties on a 4 week rotation to support the Health Board, to include vetting and reporting of urgent, emergency cases, general and oncology reporting.  Candidates with subspecialty reporting interests are very welcome to apply. The candidate will contribute to the wider workload of the department subject to job plan discussions, including teaching of radiology trainees, reporting Radiographers, undergraduate students, and other hospital staff. A flexible approach to working is essential with the Health Board requirement demonstrated in the job plan section of this document.

Out Of Hours (OOH) on-call is currently outsourced and completed remotely by an online Teleradiology provider, the successful candidates will assist the Health Board in providing a proportion of this service as described, completing cross-site reporting and emergency cover for our four main hospital sites where necessary.

The departments of Radiology at the acute sites operate strategically as one department and there is close collaboration leading to the integration of services.  The successful candidates will fully participate with the existing consultants in providing radiology services across Hywel Dda and will be expected to build good working relationships which would augment and compliment the services we currently provide.
