Job overview

We on Cadog ward are seeking an enthusiastic receptionist/administrative assistant to join our friendly team.

The dynamic and enthusiastic individual  will need to integrate with the current team and provide efficient and effective support to the nurses, consultants and patients. Attention to detail is necessary, as are excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise and plan. 

The post holder will be the first face patients see, they should be polite, professional, enthusiastic, and able to deal with multiple tasks from Nursing staff, Doctors, Patients and relatives, both over the phone and in person on the Ward. 

Main duties of the job

The candidate should have excellent computer skills, with a good telephone manner, capable of updating records, filing, dealing with incoming and outgoing post, arranging appointments, ambulance bookings and a sound knowledge of the ‘Welsh PAS’ system ' which manages the patients flow through the unit and Health Board.  The role will involve walking to other departments to collect notes and files. 

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate strong team working skills plus the ability to work on their own initiative, communicating with all levels of hospital staff as well as patients and carers.

Two integrated care centres (Aberaeron and Cardigan, Ceredigion).
