Job overview

Our Nuclear Medicine department is seeking a suitably qualified, registered HCPC Radiographer/ RCT Clinical Technologist. This post is part time and will involve working long days/evenings and occasional weekends. 

Withybush Hospital has a very busy Gamma camera undertaking imaging for the whole Health Board, offering a range of scans including cardiac, bone, thyroid, renal, gastric, VQ, SPECT CT and paediatric imaging . The department prides itself on delivering excellent patient care. There is active encouragement of research and role extension opportunities. 

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team running the Gamma Camera in the Nuclear Medicine department.  This will include organising patient lists, undertaking QA, injecting radioactive isotope, imaging, ordering radiopharmaceuticals, working alongside departmental MPE and lead to maintain high standards of radiation safety.

  • Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
  • Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Essential criteria
  • IPEM Diploma or Radiography degree or equivalent
  • HCPC or RCT registered
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development to postgraduate diploma level
  • Sound professional knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology
Desirable criteria
  • PG qualification in Nuclear Medicine

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Period of postgraduate experience in Radiography or equivalent to postgraduate diploma level
Desirable criteria
  • PG experience in Nuclear Medicine
  • Venepuncture and IV administration

Language Skills

Desirable criteria
  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
