The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.

Job overview
Our Endoscopy Unit based at Prince Philip Hospital is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic, forward thinking Health Care Support Worker to join our Endoscopy team.
The post is part time 22.5 hours per week.
The Endoscopy unit has a friendly supportive environment, which is strongly focused on teamwork and patient care. It provides diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy services for both inpatients and outpatients. We are currently running 5 days a week. It has two procedure rooms and is continuing to undergo further development to achieve JAG accreditation.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for assisting in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Gastroenterology, Respiratory and Urology along with administration duties to ensure the smooth running of the lists.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Essential criteria
- Previous experience in the NHS inclusive of healthcare activities and experience in decontamination in endoscopy and theatre environment
- Clear understanding of patient and goods transport
Desirable criteria
- NHS experience in theatre and Endoscopy field
- Recognised decontamination certificates
Experience
Essential criteria
- Qualification Credit Framework - QCF Diploma Level 3 (formally NVQ Level 3 (Health) -OR- equivalent experience and be prepared to work towards achieving the QCF Diploma
- Level 3 in Health within one year of appointment -OR- ILM Level 3 -OR- Equivalent qualification such as E-learning modules
- Decontamination training and certificated training
- Maintain their personal development
- Recognises need for lifelong learning
