An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a number of band 6 Mental Health Practitioner's to join the Wirral Mental Health Single Point of Access Service.

We are a dynamic assessment and signposting service for all new referrals into secondary care mental health services from the age of 18 upwards, and therefore includes adults and older persons.

The service operates from 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday, and is Wirral wide.  The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated CWP as ‘Good’ overall, ‘better’ for treatments and ‘Outstanding’ for care.

The Mental Health Practitioner must demonstrate a high level of clinical skills, experience of working within the Mental Health field at least to a band 5 level and ideally have 1-year minimum post registration experience and will be expected to work using a high level of expertise within the multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for highly skilled and competent practitioners, who are motivated and committed to delivering quality care with excellent communication and person-centred skills. Report writing and the ability to assess complex patients is essential. You will be required to undertake detailed assessments of people’s needs and use your clinical skills and knowledge to provide intervention and treatment.

Applicants should have sound working knowledge of mental health disorders and the Mental Health Act.

You will be an autonomous, independent practitioner within a small but dynamic team, and as this post involves working across a wide geographical area access to transport for work purposes is essential. In addition, the post holder will support the team in the  transformation of Community Mental Health Services.

  • Sound knowledge of current professional staff development and continuous service improvement issues, particularly in the context of ADHD and personality disorder services
