**We offer a relocation package of up to £8,000**

The relocation package is for anyone who would need to relocate in order to take up employment with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership. Terms and conditions apply.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a number of band 6 Mental Health Practitioner's to join the Wirral Mental Health Single Point of Access Service.

We are a dynamic assessment and signposting service for all new referrals into secondary care mental health services from the age of 18 upwards, and therefore includes adults and older persons.

The service operates from 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday, and is Wirral wide.  The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated CWP as ‘Good’ overall, ‘better’ for treatments and ‘Outstanding’ for care.

Main duties of the job

The Mental Health Practitioner must demonstrate a high level of clinical skills, experience of working within the Mental Health field at least to a band 5 level and ideally have 1-year minimum post registration experience and will be expected to work using a high level of expertise within the multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for highly skilled and competent practitioners, who are motivated and committed to delivering quality care with excellent communication and person-centred skills. Report writing and the ability to assess complex patients is essential. You will be required to undertake detailed assessments of people’s needs and use your clinical skills and knowledge to provide intervention and treatment.

Applicants should have sound working knowledge of mental health disorders and the Mental Health Act.

You will be an autonomous, independent practitioner within a small but dynamic team, and as this post involves working across a wide geographical area access to transport for work purposes is essential. In addition, the post holder will support the team in the  transformation of Community Mental Health Services.

If you are keen to embrace new ideas, have significant mental health experience and are ready to consolidate your existing experience, we are just waiting to hear from you.

Please ensure your supporting information demonstrates how you meet the essential/desirable criteria.

Working for our organisation

Recruitment selection processes are based on competence (see Person specification) and values.

CWP recruits people that can demonstrate the Trust’s Values and Behaviours in their everyday life. Therefore, if you are invited to interview, you will be undertaking a Values Based Interview/Assessment, which explores not only what you do but how and why you do it.

Before applying, we encourage you to review the Trust’s Values and Behaviours which are ‘the 6 Cs’ Communication, Competence, Courage, Care, Compassion and Commitment.  A ‘Guide to completing your application form’ can be accessed on the bottom of this page under the job description, or via our website https://www.cwp.nhs.uk/completing-application-guidance

The Supporting Information Section in your application should therefore reflect your understanding of the Trust’s Values and associated Behaviours. You will be expected to provide us with examples from work experience and/or personal life which demonstrate these values through your behaviour.

If you have a disability that meets the definition set out in the Equality Act 2010, and you can show that you meet the ‘essential’ criteria described in the person specification for an available position, please answer ‘YES’ to the question: ‘Do you wish to be considered under the Guaranteed Interview Scheme?’

Please inform the team if you have any special support needs to be considered as part of the interview and selection processes.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
